Jazz, Lyrical, and Ballet Teacher
Dony’ae Bush is originally from St. Louis MO, where he began taking classes at his home studio Center of Creative Arts (COCA). He began taking classes such as Jazz, Tap, and Hip-Hop at age 10. Mr. Bush joined COCA’s pre-professional dance companies COCAdance, Ballet Eclectia, and COCA’s Hip-Hop Crew. Working with these companies has allowed him the opportunity to perform works by leading choreographers such has Antonio and Kirven Douthit-Boyd, Alicia Graf Mack, Darrell Grand Moultrie, Frank Chaves, Jose Limon among others. He has spent his summers training at programs like Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Perry Mansfield Performing Arts Camp, Joffrey Ballet Summer Intensive San Antonio TX, and Nashville Ballet. Mr. Bush graduated from George Mason University with a B.F.A in Dance.
He was honored to perform works by Donald Byrd, Mark Morris, Nick Pupillo, Robert Battle, Alejandro Cerrudo, Soon Ho Parks, Lar Lubovitch, Doug Varone, Lucinda Childs, and Nacho Duato. He has performed in Fairfax Ballet’s Nutcracker. Mr. Bush was fortunate enough to perform as a soloist at Lar Lubovitch’s 50 Anniversary Performance. He is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. as well a member of Movement Exchange and National Honor Society for Dance Arts.
