Ballet Teacher


Unur Gunaajav graduated from the Perm State Ballet School of Choreography in Russia, 1989. Following his training, Unur danced as a principal with Academic Theatre of Mongolia, Renaissance Ballet and Ballet 21st Century, Moscow. He danced leads in Sleeping Beauty, Nutcracker, Giselle, Paquita, Swan Lake, Les Corsaire, and Les Sylphides, among many others, and toured Russia, Germany, China. In 1998, he came to the USA where he performed with the Philadelphia Ballet. Unur recently served as a master teacher and guest artist for ballet companies in North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Virginia, and Tennessee. He has also performed and taught with Radford University, and Washington and Lee University. In 2007, after nine years with the Roanoke Ballet Theatre as Head of school, instructor, and choreographer, Unur established the UNA Dance Theatre and Virginia Ballet Academy.
